Dreamsage, like any company, must focus on a set of core technologies that we do very well in order to compete in today's marketplace. Implimenting these technologies is where we add most of our value to a project. These core technologies are listed below as well as a set of supporting technologies that are essential to completing a project but contribute less value.

Core Technologies

Macromedia Director - Director is an excellent tool for many of today's most complex projects. It has the ability to export as Shockwave and also export as a stand-alone Windows excecutable for distribution on a CDROM. It can handle VERY complex programming, complex networking, sound, video, and just about anything you can throw at it. This is Dreamsage's most proficient area.

Projects using Director:

Macromedia Flash - Flash has many advantages and is fast becoming an industry standard for high-end multimedia on the Internet. We use it because 98% of the world's Internet browsers can recognise it and it does a wonderful job manipulating vector graphics. It can compress into a very small download and it can handle some moderately complex scripting.

Projects using Flash:

HTML Web design - Using page design techniques with simple HTML and Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) can go a long way toward making your company look it's best. Graphics tools like Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop allow your site to have that 'finished' look.

Examples:

ASP/VBScript - ASP is a server-side scripting language that allows for truely dynamic web sites. If your project requirements include data display or data collection from forms, this is an indespensable tool. The ability to use ASP to connect Director to a web server for retrieving data allows things like a high-scores screen, password protected login and many other features expected in today's high-end games.

Projects using ASP:

Database Integration (MS Access/MSSQL/MySQL) - Data can be stored on a web server in a veriety of formats and retrieved using ASP and ADO. This data can be searched and retrieved at need to build data rich web applications.

3D Studio Max - 3D design can can add realism and excitement to a project and can sometimes explain a complex process better then any other method. The result of this technology can either be a still picture, a video, or a 3D model that can be dynamically moved during playback.
